The story

Whispering Cave is one of the Hocking Hills' lesser-known caves, reached on the Hemlock Bridge Trail from Old Man's Cave. The state describes it as the second-largest cave in the region, with a 105-foot seasonal waterfall cascading to the floor. Like the other Hocking Hills caves it sits in the Blackhand sandstone the region is known for, and the same forces of water erosion shaped it.

The area shares the park's history of Native American use and of early settlement. Check ODNR for current trail conditions before you go.
