The story

The byway winds through the Tappan Lake and Clendening Lake regions and returns through some of eastern Ohio's rural landscapes, including family farms, fields and water scenes. New Rumley, along SR 646, is the birthplace of the Civil War and Indian Wars cavalry officer George Armstrong Custer, and a memorial marks the spot. Deersville's main street has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
